We want to introduce to you our Head of Product Andreas. He joined scty in the beginning of 2024 and is located near Munich.

My Role at scty

My role here is a dual one: I am responsible for advancing our implementation-oriented business, and I also manage multiple consulting projects. These projects often connect to software development or – a highly current topic over the last two years – AI in the public sector, focusing on the connection between the technical implementation and the content side of AI. In addition, I take on leadership and internal tasks.

My background

I bring a background composed of two main areas: consulting and software and product development. My first job after my PhD was at McKinsey up to the position of Engagement Manager (Project Manager) with a focus on IT and digital topics, including in the public sector, as well as consulting projects in the high-tech and software industry. This was followed by several years in different leadership positions at an industrial company in product and software development. During this time, I was also Interim-CTO for one portfolio company, in parallel to my product and software development leadership role.

Why I choose scty

The move to scty was motivated by the desire to bring my two streams – the consulting background and the industrial background – together. The crucial difference and goal at scty is not to do purely classical consulting, but to support clients End-to-End, from consulting to actual implementation. We do not want to stop at PowerPoint, but rather to truly generate Impact. This differentiates us and is one of our USPs: we combine a broader range of services with the high quality of strategic consulting.

Making the public sector better

The second, deeper reason for my move was reconnecting with my passion: making the public sector better. Especially in the digital area, this is something we desperately need to drive forward in Germany, as I truly believe that a well-functioning public administration is one of the foundations of a democracy and the rule of law. One of my recent highlights was an AI project we conducted for a public client. What I really liked about this project was how quickly we moved together with the client. It was a project that concluded in five to six weeks, leading to a decision that is now being implemented. This shows that things can move quickly when there are people in the public sector who genuinely want to get something done.

Our team spirit

What I particularly appreciate about my daily work at scty are the highly motivated and great colleagues I work with. The team spirit is characterized by the fact that we genuinely work as a team. When you work in an scty team, you feel that people want to get things done, that they have a "Can-do" attitude. I enjoy the interaction and joint problem-solving, resulting in a better solution for our clients as a team than just as individuals. Our team approach is essentially fact-based and not hierarchy driven, but about jointly approaching the problem to really solve it. I also truly appreciate the good vibes when I'm in the Munich office.
